Additional Information: I was charged and arrested for robbery in Shrewsbury, MA.  Does the “victim” need to be present at trial? The state picked up charges but I’m wondering if the person alleging he was robbed has to come forward as a witness? If no, how can the state prove he was in fact robbed?

Yes, either the victim or a person with a sufficient relationship to the victim is required to be present at trial to establish that items taken in fact belonged to the victim.
