I represented a father who had to drive 1/1/2 hours each way to visit with his infant son born out of wedlock. The child’s mother claimed the child was too young for overnight visits and refused to divide the driving for pickups and drop offs for the child. Father was permitted two 3 hour unsupervised visits with the child per week and 1 six hour visit for the weekends and had to resort to taking the child to malls to pass the time for his visits. After trial, father received overnight visits with the child on weekends and mother had to equally divide the driving/transportation responsibilities for visitation.
