MEDIATION

Attorney Franklin is also a certified family law mediator. Mediation is the process by which two parties going through a divorce or divorce-related matter choose to hire an objective mediator to help them resolve all of the issues involved outside of court. Both parties must be committed to resolving such issues outside of the traditional litigation process. Since Attorney Franklin is also a trial attorney, he is able to provide his clients with the additional perspective of how a court might resolve their matter.

CRIMINAL LAW

In addition, Attorney Franklin is a seasoned criminal defense trial attorney. Attorney Franklin has litigated hundreds of criminal defense cases in the Massachusetts District Court. These cases involve:

  • Operating under the influence of alcohol/drugs (OUI);
  • Assault and Battery;
  • Abuse Prevention Order Violations;
  • Drug cases;
  • Motor Vehicle stops, including illegal search and seizures of evidence; and
  • All other areas of Criminal Law.

Attorney Franklin’s reputation and rapport with prosecutors as well as judges has resulted in non-convictions and the dismissal of criminal charges against his clients. Many cases which Attorney Franklin has tried have also resulted in his clients being found Not Guilty of criminal charges against them.

REAL ESTATE

Attorney Franklin has vast experience with residential real estate transactions. He thoroughly reviews Purchase and Sales Agreements, as well as HUD Transaction Statements before and at closings. He takes pride in working with clients throughout the closing process and personally attends closings with his clients. In addition, he drafts Declarations of Homesteads and provides Title Insurance to further protect their interests.

PROBATE MATTERS

Finally, Attorney Franklin also handles:

PERSONAL/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Attorney Michael M. Franklin was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, in 1963. Attorney Franklin began his legal internship in the prestigious family law firm of Norman and Ricci in 1984 while a junior at Clark University. He maintained a relationship with this firm throughout law school at Western New England College School of Law. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Franklin worked as an associate attorney at Norman and Ricci from 1991 until 1993. Mr. Franklin has maintained his own law practice since 1995. He has been a certified family law mediator since 2000.
